A Yabusame exhibition at Minami-Alps City to honor Nagakiyo Ogasawara, a Japanese warrior in the Heian and Kamakura periods

In the Kamakura period, Nagakiyo Kagami assumed the surname of Ogasawara and founded Ogasawara-ryu Yabusame (The Ogasawara School Yabusame). This was the beginning of the Ogasawara family and the family continues until modern day.

The birthplace of the Ogasawara family is in Kainokuni (present-day Yamanashi Prefecture).

At Minami-Alps City, the birthplace of the family, a Yabusame exhibition is held to honor Nagakiyo Ogasawara. The Yabusame exhibition is introduced via beautiful photography and videos.

The worship at the Ogasawara Nagakio Shrine 

More than 20 members of Butoku-kai leave Fukuoka Prefecture for Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

After arriving, all members of Butoku-kai attend worship at the Ogasawara Nagakio Shrine to pray for the safety of the Yabusame exhibition.

Photos of Yabusame Kisya-Hasamimono

Yabusame Kisya-Hasamimono rite will be finished after all three fans are hit by archers.

The first and the second archers hit the first and the third targets respectively, only the second target remained. The third archer is expected to hit the last one.
